Cole learns to clap

Being a mom makes you really appreciate the little things.

Wow, I thought he couldn't get any cuter and then he clapped.

hello sunshine

Cole's pediatrician once told me that most people who live in Oregon are seriously lacking Vitamin D in the winter.   I took this information and jokingly said to Luke, "A doctor told me I'm lacking vitamin D and you should probably take me somewhere sunny". And to my surprise,  he bought it.

He said we could go on vacation in two weeks and get this.....I could pick the destination and he would take me anywhere I wanted. My first thought was HELLO HAWAII...but then I remembered I had a 6 month baby boy. I decided to stay close because Cole will be joining us. (and have you ever been on an airplane with a baby???) The shorter the flight the better. So the Jackson family will be going to palm springs in 2 weeks.
Do you need a vacation?? Tell your husband you are feeling the affects of Vitamin D deficiency too!

Adam&Eve

Luke's brother Joey is getting married to my friend Heather this August! We couldn't be more excited. Since I love all things wedding...I've been searching wedding blogs and trying to come up with some  creative ideas for them. I came across this cake topper and laughed so hard I almost peed.

It is indeed....creative

6 months

Did you hear the big news?
I'm sure you have. Everyone's been talking about it.
Cole is sitting up by himself!

He turned 6 MONTHS on the 17th. Time is flying by entirely too fast. It was about this time last year we were in Italy finding out it we were having a boy or girl.....remember this?

peek-a-boo

We will go to great lengths to get a laugh out of Cole. There is no sound too ridiculous or face too goofy.

free time

Cole really doesn't like to play by himself, which makes it hard to ever get anything done. We got Cole a jumperoo toy about 6 weeks ago. Not only was he 2 inches to short for it, but he would scream bloody murder when we tried to put him in it.

Yesterday my dishes and laundry were piling up, and I really needed a break. I decided to try the jumper toy again. Not only do his toes touch, but he loves it! Hooray for anything that can entertain him!

When I say "he loves it" I mean he loves it for about 10 minutes. But I can do a lot with 10 minutes.

I have always been amazed at my own mothers multitasking skills. Since becoming a mother, I too have acquired these. If I have 10 free minutes I can do laundry, dishes, shower, whip fresh cream to top my homemade pies, sew Luke & Cole matching outfits, polish the stainless steel appliances and dry some flowers for my homemade potpourri.

Never knew I could move so fast.

(I do realize for most people that was the most boring video ever...BUT I know 2 grandmas and an aunt Jill that will think it's great!)
